Not sure why, but Rudy has been wanting to ride Sand Mtn. for several weeks. Maybe it’s to visit family or something. Anyway the Elites will head that way Saturday. Roll from the Food City in St. Elmo at 8:30, out 299, up the Goat path. We’ll turn left on Wells Rd. just because I’ve never gone that way before. See map for exact route.
Saturday 9/8 – OAC
13th Annual “Ride to Provide” aka Open Arms Challenge rolls at 8:30 from their offices in Ooltewah (6711 Mtn. View Rd Suite 111 Ooltewah, TN 37363) on one of the best Metric Century courses around. Great food afterwards and a great cause. Link takes you to online registration but you can register day of beginning at 7:00 am.

Saturday 9/1/18
Nothing fancy this week since I’m sure we all have other activities planned. Roll from Unum at 8:30 for a Bubba regular. Over the Toe, out Creek Rd. Morganville Ridge, Murphy Hollow, Stair Steps and then climb as much of Lookout as you want. Map shows turning 2/3 of the way up at Saunders. Lunch at UJ for those that have time.
Regular Holiday ride route Monday from Unum rolling at 9am.
Saturday 8/18/18 Kamp Kookamonga Ride
Come one and all for Bub One’s Kamp Kookamonga ride. Pool party @ Bub One’s with Hot Dogs & BBQ to follow just bring your favorite beverage (BYOB) and swimming trunks. Water stop @ Pigeon Mtn. Grill. (Mile 38). Several easy ways to shorten the route due to weather or Honey-do-chores. Will roll from Bub One’s house at 8:30 at 1546 Burnt Mill Rd. which is about 3.5 miles south of the St. Elmo Food City. Plenty of parking. 65 miles through some uncharted roads in N. Georgia. No climbs but some tough stingers along the way.
Saturday 8/11/18
Elites will roll at 8:30 from Unum and do the Elite 3S3M metric route. It’s that metric century that’s only 55 miles. For those not familiar with the route we’ll climb Suck Creek Mtn, left through the valley, refuel at the bait store, and return via 299. Route includes the little kicker at Lookout by the Nature Center and for anyone that wants more they can climb all of Lookout.
Saturday Aug. 4th
The official Elite ride for Saturday 8/4 is the Chattanooga Century (formerly known as Prison Prevention Ride). Pick your poison Century or Metric, both are great courses provided there’s not a monster wind out of the north. Click link for details.

Saturday 7/28/18
Elites will head into Fly territory Saturday. Roll from Ridgeland High School at 8:30 (park in the back) for a 64 mile tour of North Georgia. Some of the roads you might recognize from the Gents ride. All I know is that I’ll have the route loaded in my Garmin, otherwise I’m lost. Store stop either in Lafayette or Rock Springs depending on how we feel. Hopefully Reflectar can ride with us and relive his PR decent down Cora Ann from 4 years ago.
Saturday 7/14/18
Elites will run contrary to Team Bubba Saturday (and a little bit shorter). Roll from Unum at 8:30. Swing by Bub One’s house on the way to Marble Top. Climb 136 to the store and then return via Creek Road. 54 miles and lunch at UJ for those that can make it.
Saturday 7/7/18
Elites will continue to look for ways to beat the heat by riding at a higher altitude for most of Saturday. Roll from the old Signal Mtn K-Mart at 8:30 for the Tour de Signal. We’ll warm up with a loop through Horseshoe Farms subdivision before spinning up the front of Signal, bearing right at Shoal Creek and then turn left back towards the CVS. From there we’ll run the mountain clockwise and explore most every nook and cranny on the mountain. Water stop at mile 32 and a possible pool stop (Boss take note) at Romeo’s at mile 38. 50 miles and 3,600 ft of climbing. Lot’s of regroup points.
Saturday 6/9/18
Elites will roll from Unum at 8:30. We’ll head over the toe and out Creek Rd. to Trenton where we’ll continue south past the Southeast Lineman Training Center on Hwy 11 before turning at Byrds Chapel Ln. cruising by the Trenton Country Club and then climbing Sand Mtn. (don’t take the 2nd switchback). Back to Unum the normal way so if you’re not sure look at the map.
Now pay attention because TB rolls at the same time from the same location. I’d hate for you to get caught in the wrong group. 😉
